Music Write-Ups
How do you know Chris Earley?
How many MP3s do you have on your hard drive?
Last October, Courtney Conley took me to see Dar Williams as a birthday gift. She opened with this song and I really did love it. I hadn’t heard her much before this concert, and this song made me swoon.
Last Friday night, I was sitting at the Portland airport past midnight, on a 4 or 5 hour delay. I sat in one of those study carrols they have there that are irresistable in their “5th-floor-of-the-university-library-ness” and entertained myself in every way I could think of. Finished my book I was reading, watched some videos off the internet, did some work and emails, etc. Mostly, I just relaxed and sat there thinking.
And when my eyes could take no more of the screen, I turned on the music and shut them. This song came on, and my plane came in. As we hit our cruising altitude, I hit repeat and listened to this song the whole flight. It actually brought tears to my eyes. I can’t tell you why, at all, but since being moved to tears is rare for me, this song has been giving me a very special feeling all week. Enjoy!
